Venice Santa lucia駅からの風景

ホテルはこの近くなので見慣れた風景。スケッチしていると声をかけてきた男性がいた。イラン人だそうだ。世界各地を一人で旅しているという。イラン人にもこんな自由に行動している人がいるんだ、と思った。何となくイスラムの戒律が厳しく自由な旅行などできそうにないというイメージがあったので。そういえば同じホテルにいた家族もイラン人だった。女性はヒジャブをつけていなかったので聞いてみると、私たちはoutlaw, アウトローだからね、という返事だった。

This view was familiar to me because my hotel was near here. While I was sketching, a man talked to me, he said he was an Iranian and traveling around the world. I was a little surprised. My image of Iran is that people there can't do anything they want to because of its social system. A family I met at my hotel was also from Iran. Noticing the women were not wearing hijabs, I asked them why. Their answer was " We are outlaws" .
